Wealth of people

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"Our leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is a great ideo-theoretician and a genius of the revolution and construction ever known in history, and the benevolent father of our people, endowed with a noble, unmatched virtue."

President Kim Il Sung was the greatest man with the noblest character in the world.

He was the great man of the century who regarded the people as heaven and provided all sorts of privileges nobody has ever seen in the world to people and lived the ordinary life, not allowing a slightest privilege to himself.

It was in May, 1953 when the Fatherland Liberation War was nearing the victorious end of our country.

Late at night, one official showed the President a table craftwork He explained to the President that our workers had made it as a gift for him on the occasion of May Day. He wished the President to take it to his house.

Listening to him, Kim Il Sung took an interest in the gifts sent by the workers for a while and asked him to convey his greetings to the workers who had sent it to him. He said that he could not take it although it was presented as a gift.

Looking at the handicraft again, he kindly advised them to register it as state property and keep it well.

At the moment all the officials were surprised. In those days, it was a difficult period of war, so it was impossible to furnish the mansion of President Kim Il Sung with good furniture even such as an ashtray.

Then the workers had sent a craftwork with an ashtray as a gift to him on May Day, and they were willing to take it to the mansion of the President. But the President never allowed it and said to register it as a property of the country.

He was the leader who was so great and yet so common.

The world people presented a lot of precious gifts with boundless respect and reverence to him in high praise of the immortal exploits and feats he performed for the Korean revolution and the world revolution.

He always regarded the gifts as the great appreciation of our fatherland and people and as the expression of the friendship.

He thought that the gifts were not only for himself. President Kim Il Sung told that all the gifts were the state properties rather than the individual's and taught the official to keep them well since they were the national treasures with the historical significance.

Politicians of the other countries hardly open the gifts they receive from the others to the public and register them in their private property list. Even when showing them to the others, they regard them as a source of pride of their personality.

But President Kim Il Sung made all the gifts he had received the wealth of the people and the nation.

He taught the official to build a new exhibition in the good place of Mt. Myohyang and keep all the gifts in it in order to show them to our people and foreigners. Upholding this teaching, the International Friendship Exhibition House was built and all the gifts have been kept as the wealth of the people and nation.

After an European personality visiting the International Friendship Exhibition House, he said that all presents displayed in the house illustrated the President's honor with praises and congratulations on his immortal exploits and contributions in the Korean revolution and the world revolution and in the cause of the liberation of human beings. He also spoke out his mind that provided that he served as a guard of that house the world treasure house, in his entire life, he conceived it his biggest happiness.

President Kim Il Sung visited many monuments and historic relics including the Three Revolution Exhibition House and Mausoleum of King Tongmyong throughout the country, but did not look around all the International Friendship Exhibition House where all the gifts he had received were kept to the end of his life.

President Kim Il Sung was the greatest man in the world, but was upright and honest in life while regarding the noble idea and sound spirit as the most important rather than money or property as the greatest wealth of revolutionaries.

Indeed, President Kim Il Sung lived as plain life as the ordinary person all his life and will lead our people wisely with his moral influence and great personality in the future.
