Clear waters, far-reaching spectacular sandy beaches and thick pine trees have long been the pride of the beach of the Majon Tourist Resort, and many people have visited from all over the country every summer.
That day, the General Secretary, standing smiling on the sandy beach where the waves were beating upon, received the greetings from the officials who were managing the resort.
He, with a smile on his face, looked at an official saying proudly that many people were coming from Pyongyang and other parts of the country to have a bath, and that it was really crowded at times. Then the General Secretary turned his eyes upon a rest home with a serious look, thinking for a while.
All the officials didn't know exactly why, but the General Secretary said in a worried voice that they should build more modern rest homes as they are unable to meet the demands of the people with those existing ones in the beach resort.
The officials were moved to their hearts, listening to the General Secretary who is so concerned for the inconvenience to the people enjoying their pleasant time.
Besides the problems in constructing more rest homes, the General Secretary said that measures should be taken in advance to prevent it so as not to be damaged by the tidal wave because the resort is on the coast of the rough sea.
In fact, many officials from central and provincial authorities, as well as the officials there discussed many issues concerning its management, but they did not even think of the damage caused by the tidal wave.
But the General Secretary made sure that the measures should be taken beforehand for the beach favoured by the people not to be damaged even a bit.
After inquiring into the issue of how to supply water to the beach showers, the General Secretary gave detailed instructions on the spot to officials to build the Majon Tourist Resort into a one for the people as required by the new century, and to equip them with modern public service facilities including the dressing rooms and showers at the beach resort.
Walking slowly through the pine trees a while later, the General Secretary told the officials that he decided to build the rest home wonderfully as required by the new century in order to realize the lofty intention of the great leaders and provide the people with better cultural and emotional living conditions.
The officials were deeply moved by the ardent love of the General Secretary who visited the beach resort to provide the people with better conditions for cultural life in spite of the tight schedule of field guidance.
Prior to his departure, the General Secretary told the officials that the Majon Tourist Resort would be operated as it was this summer, and then, he would push ahead with the reconstruction project from the autumn to the next summer to refurbish it to the world level.
The General Secretary gave his meticulous instructions to carry out the project without interfering with the operation of the beach resort, considering that people who were looking forward to the bathing season would be disappointed if the reconstruction started immediately.
Indeed, all his thoughts and practices were inclined to see how to better the convenience and interests of the people.
Kindly grasping the hands of the officials who were unwilling to part, the General Secretary said that the staffs of the Majon Tourist Resort Management Station should manage it well in the future, keeping the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea in mind to rebuild a better resort for people. Then he went on his tour of field guidance for another destination.
Even though the General Secretary set off, his traces of love were still left in the Majon Tourist Resort.
Thanks to the love for and devotion to people of the General Secretary to provide the people with the best conditions for cultural life in the world, many people from all parts of the country today visit the Majon Tourist Resort in the DPRK which has been wonderfully rebuilt on a world level.
