Fatherly Love Associated with the Sea Bathing Resort in Ryongsupho

The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il devoted all his heart and soul all his life in order to provide people with a better cultural recreational ground.

Every cultural and recreational base filled with the pleasure and laughter of people is associated with detailed leadership and warm affection of the great general who was always concerned to provide increasingly better cultural and recreational living conditions to our people.

The great general gave detailed and concrete guidance in order to upgrade the Sea Bathing Resort in Ryongsupho in conformity with the demands of times and to normalize its operation, which was built under the warm care of the great leader for the good health and the excellent cultural and delightful life of our people including Pyongyang citizens.

At the beginning of the 2000s, the resort was not properly furbished concerning the welfare and public catering service due to the country's hardship, and its management and operation were not good enough for people to enjoy the civilized life fully.

On May 13th, Juche 90 (2001), the great general visited this sea bathing resort and said the seawater of this area was clear and clean beyond expectation, even though the West Sea of Korea was known to be muddy one. It was rare to see the clear water in the West Sea, and it was safe for a bath since the depth of the water was less than the height of people's shoulder up to the distance of 100 metres from the seashore and the seabed was pebbled, so it was a proper place for a sea bathing resort.

That day the great general checked the salt percentage of sea water, water quality and the composition of sand and pebbles on the beach. Afterwards he set task, ways and means for establishing the public welfare and catering service and providing the electric power and traffic service so that people could enjoy the sea bathing comfortably and spend the pleasant time for a break.

What is important for the establishment of any sea bathing resort is to modernize public welfare service facilities so that people could have fun satisfactorily without any inconvenience.

Recognizing deeply the importance of public amenities in establishing the sea bathing resort, the great general gave detailed instructions to erect public amenities with a capacity of accommodating more than 15 000 people a day according to its dimension.

In addition, he saw to it that bathing booths, shower rooms, WC, sunshade stands, and simple catering service facilities like soft drink in the area for sea bathing are installed.

Then the great leader gave detailed instructions to construct the amenities a little far away from the place for sea bathing to avoid the environmental pollution due to the litter thrown away by people.

There needs to be a hotel for the convenience of those who would like to stay several days and enjoy sea bathing.

However, some leading personnel did not pay any attention to hotels because people would normally enjoy one-day-trip for sea bathing.

The great general said that there could be some people who come to the sea bathing resort for medical treatment, so that a hotel should be built for the accommodation of both our people and the foreign visitors.

It was also mentioned to solve the issue to provide the electric power fully to guarantee the normal operation of public service facilities including hotels. Therefore the task was given to the responsible department in advance to arrange the necessary measures to provide enough electric power. And deep attention was also paid to solving the traffic issue for the convenience of visitors to the sea bathing resort.

Thanks to the careful leadership of the great leader the exclusive train line between Pyongyang and Kwail County was established, and the bus line between Kwail County and the sea bathing resort was organized. Afterwards a non-stop bus line between Pyongyang and the sea bathing resort was formed, so that people could get access to the resort without any inconvenience in traffic.

That day the great leader received the report from the officials that the red coloured stones on the tip of the resort could be used as the precious building material if it would be excavated and processed well. He did not allow them to use the red coloured stones in limited amount in order to keep the beautiful landscape of the sea bathing resort there intact which should be developed as the cultural recreational ground for people.

Hence, Ryongsupo, which once used to be used as the playing site for the rich in the past, was transformed into the resort for the cultural and recreational life of our people thanks to the love of the great general.

The happy laughter heard from the sea bathing resort there is the eruption of the gratitude of our people to the affection and benevolence of the great general who would like to make our people the happiest in the world.

Thanks to the noble love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is paving the way of devotion endlessly to give all the possible happiness to our people true to the intention of the great leader and the great general, the number of grounds for our people's cultural and recreational life is increasing from day to day, and they are replete with people's laughter and optimism.
