President
Chairman
"Comrade
The 8-hour working day is the most basic right of working life provided by the state for the working people of our country.
In the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle President
Thanks to this gratifying popular policy, all the Korean people are fully enjoying the right to worthwhile labour and rest, irrespective of whom.
But President
May 16, Juche 57(1968) was one of those days.
When visiting North Hwanghae Province, the President visited the Hwanghae Iron Works (at that time), the February 8 Cement Factory (at that time), the Migok Cooperative Farm and more than 10 units in the province, and in the evening called leading officials of the province to learn in detail about the Party and economic work in the province and held a consultative meeting of Party and administrative and economic officials in North Hwanghae Province.
At the consultative meeting, the President gave the task of strengthening new equipment and production processes and introducing new technology in order to normalize production at the then Hwanghae Iron Works and the then February 8 Cement Factory, improving the supply service to workers and building fruit-processing factories one by one in a mass movement in cities and counties.
During the rest of the meeting, the President gave a senior official in the province precious instructions on building a quarry in the lounge, and then called the officials of the Haeju Cardboard Factory (at that time) to look into the inside and outside of the small corrugated cardboard boxes they had brought up, and inquired about what the cardboard materials were, how many kilograms of it could be put in and how many it could be produced a year.
During the meeting all morning, there was only one break. However the President used this break in dealing with the matters.
After having lunch, the great leader guided the provincial party meeting again.
The sun was already setting when President left the building of provincial party committee after guiding the meeting.
But President told the following senior official of the province to go to the construction site of Kilsongpho, and he got into the car first.
After looking carefully at the panoramic drawings unfolded by the officials there, he learned in detail about the depth of the water, displacement of passage, navigation area and then gave precious instructions for the whole construction including the issue of not making the canal too wide and the issue of setting up a wide bank.
That evening President
After all, President had another "consultative meeting" with the officials that evening.
After leaving the officials, President spent the whole night dealing with many documents raised across the country.
This story is not only about his devotion that day.
The President had spent his whole life for the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people without a moment's rest.
That's why our people wrote the song "Leader, the Night Is Far Advanced" to President, reflecting their ardent desire for a good rest even for a while.
Indeed, all the Korean people will never forget the immortal exploits of President
