An Absolute Truth Taught by Humor

Today, our republic is displaying its dignity and might to the world highly as the independent powerful state.

The 5000-year history of our nation that was trampled in the stormy crisis and might have lost itself in the world map and the 100-year history of the Kim Il Sung nation that has risen from the colonial country to the independent powerful state leading the political current of the world makes a dramatic contrast.

Studying the lesson and truth that the two histories between 5000 years and 100 years give, our people dwell upon the unusual statesmanship of President Kim Il Sung who worked such a revolutionary miracle as the creation of a new world.

What was his unusual statesmanship based on?

It was just independence.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Kim Il Sung was a pre-eminent and seasoned leader of the revolution, who wrote a new chapter in modern history and added brilliance to it by leading our revolution along an ever-victorious road under the banner of independence."

This eye-opening event where our fatherland has defended its idea, system, history, culture, land and people and risen to a Juche power in all sorts of storm is by no means an accidental gift from Heaven but a miracle that we can never think of without the independent politics of the great leader.

Independence was the revolutionary creed, the revolutionary way and the revolutionary practice that the great general held fast to and realized his whole life.

He led the Korean revolution along the road of the victory holding fast to the banner of independence the whole period of leading the arduous anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, the new road to the foundation of the country, the severe Fatherland Liberation War and the postwar rehabilitation, the socialist revolution and the socialist construction, rejecting flunkeyism and dogmatism, overcoming the pressure of the big-powerism and dominationism, and developed our fatherland into a socialist state which is independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant in defence.

A lot of government leaders and politicians visited the Socialist Korea to meet our great leader who made our people most honorable in the world by realizing the independent politics which is the lifeline of the contemporary politics and created the great statesmanship unknown to the human history of the state building.

Although he created the model of the socialist state building with the unusual ideology and theory and leading the revolution, the great leader warmly welcomed all of them and brought them to the absolute truth, revolutionary truth that they should maintain firmly in the construction of the new society with everyday life story.

It was June 21, Juche68(1979).

That day the great general met the king of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk who visited our country and gave him a meaningful teaching to maintain independence in carving out the destiny of the nation by telling him a humor about "a car without a handle".

Watching the driver changing the direction skillfully along the windy road on their way to Mt. Paektu, he said to Norodom Sihanouk that he would tell an interesting story.

A General Secretary of the Communist party of a big country presented a car to a General Secretary of the Communist party of a small country in Europe and its colour and shape were quite good and the chair was soft, so he liked it. But there was no handle.

He thought maybe it might be somewhere else in a new form but he couldn't find it. With a smile in his face the former asked the latter who was suspicious whether he looked at the front of the car. Then they looked there but there was no handle but only a big hook. After he heard from the latter that there was only a hook, the former then told him, that was ok, to tie a rope to the hook and link to the front car, sit comfortably, and then, he would drive the front car and the latter would just be dragged.

Listening to the great leader about the "a car without a handle", he keenly realized.

It was not a simple humour. At last he realized that in that humourous story, there was absolute truth that he had to regard as a cherished opinion and carry into practice.

It was not only the king Norodom Sihanouk who realized the truth that in carving out the destiny of a nation, independence is vital after receiving the teachings of the great leader.

Many chiefs of states, politicians and figures of all circles from the five continents realized the truth that independence is vital and were out to build a new independent society with confidence after receiving the teachings of the great leader.
