Holding Up the Working Class of Komdok In the Van of Creating a Revolutionary Culture

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"In our society a revolutionary culture should be created among a legion of the workers like those at Komdok Mine. In this way we can make the new culture created by the workers at factories and mines introduced into towns and rural communities. This can be called a law-governed process of cultural development in the socialist society, whose masters are the working class."

Chairman Kim Jong Il said that since the socialist culture means the culture of the working class, it should be created where a large corps of working class live, and spread into urban and rural areas and entrusted the working class of Komdok Mine Complex in the van of its creation.

On July 1, 1975, when he visited the Komdok Mine Complex, he paid deep attention to the workers' cultural life though busy giving on the spot guidance to the work to increase the production of minerals onto a higher level.

He inquired about the use of the cultural hall and the production and cultural life of the workshop and on his way in a man car into and out of the underground face of April 5 Pit, stressed that lights should be installed in a man car so that miners could read newspapers on their way to and out of the pit.

He saw to it that the miners should not board several days in the pit for their health, inquired about the maintenance and use of the musical instruments and the use of TV set as well and rendered benevolent love for them to enjoy better and more civilized life.

He continued to say that only a handful of the rich in the exploiting society in the past enjoyed the modern civilization and the exploited class including the working class were excluded from it, but since now is the era of the working class, the working-class culture ought to be created in such a mine where they live and work and the socialist cultural life full of revolutionary optimism should be in full bloom among them.

Looking around the moved officials, he added that the working class are the most revolutionary and civilized and they should be made a model of the whole society by further enhancing their sense of ideology and organization as well as cultural level for assimilation of the whole society to the working class.

He set forth the honorable task for the mine to take the lead in three revolutions of ideology, technology and culture. And he said that the mine should be a nationwide model in every way and take the lead not only in increasing the production but also in ideological transformation, technical renovation and creating production culture and life.

He went on to say that the revolutionary culture ought to be created by such a large group of working class as in Komdok Mine Complex and introduced to the urban and rural areas, and that this is the lawful process of the cultural development in a socialist society where the working class of its masters.

Then he taught them methods in detail to create the new culture of the working class and honored them with great trust to be in the van throughout the country in all fields of ideology, technology and culture

Thus thanks to the wise leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il, they could set an example to other mining working class in the van of creation of revolutionary culture.
