 2022.12.13.

Chairman Kim Jong Il said:

"An important characteristic of the new spiritual and moral traits of the people of our era is that they regard it as their revolutionary duty and obligation to remain loyal and dutiful to the Party and the leader, to the country and the people by devoting their all."

Today, all the Korean people are devoting sincere patriotic efforts to the building of a powerful socialist country with ardent love for their country.

Chairman Kim Jong Il led the people step by step to cherish the noble spiritual and moral traits of ardently loving their country and devoting to the collective.

Among the many revolutionary anecdotes associated with the immortal exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il is an impressive story in which he told a pilot about what the country was.

At the end of June Juche 54(1965), Chairman Kim Jong Il met a chief pilot.

In the evening when the sun was setting down, Chairman Kim Jong Il met the chief pilot and asked him about his life.

The pilot told him all about his past life as Chairman Kim Jong Il asked him in a friendly manner.

He was born to the second son of a poor family in a mountainous region before liberation and had to live in tears suffering from all sorts of humiliation separated with his siblings since his parents had gone somewhere with their children left behind. He added that he had seen his sister waving her hand to him in a red jogori he had bought for her with tears in his eyes whenever he was flying in the sky of his hometown in a combat plane during the war.

Having listened to his rambling story to the end, Chairman Kim Jong Il said that he could imagine his sister being happy in a red jogori after hard life while looking at him with deep compassion. He went on to say that if he were a writer, he would write a novel with his story of a pilot flying over the sky of his hometown and a sister in a red jogori and it would be a good artistic scene.

Chairman Kim Jong Il told the pilot that the red jogori and charitable villagers, the green paddy field and all the precious things of his hometown formed the fatherland and that he should not forget the fatherland wherever he might go on condition that he would have to carry out many important flight missions given by the Party and often have to live a lot a far away from the country.

He went on to say that the motherland is the most precious and sacred thing that cannot be called without a warm heart and without genuine love.

Chairman Kim Jong Il gave deep trust in the pilot by saying that he should always carry out his duty fully bearing the unforgettable red jogori and the beloved country in his mind wherever he might fly in a passenger plane.

Bearing in mind the precious instructions of Chairman Kim Jong Il, a motto and guideline in the sacred patriotic struggle for the country and people, the pilot said to himself.

Fatherland associated with a red jogori!

Don't forget your motherland wherever you go on this planet!

Indeed, it was a precious teaching saying what the country was through the recollection of common life.

Having received the instructions to fulfill their duty and obligation for their country bearing the motherland in their minds even in a foreign country, the chief pilot was firmly determined to devote his all to the patriotic route of following and upholding the motherland, bearing in mind the great expectation and ardent favor of the country and people true to the teachings of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The theme of literature about the red jogori and the country found by Chairman Kim Jong Il while talking to the chief pilot on that day was written into the Korean short novel "Red jogori" (Kim Jong, 2006), which had a good reputation and was widely read by the Korean people.

Indeed, Chairman Kim Jong Il is a great father and benevolent teacher who trained all the people on this land as genuine patriots with ardent love for the country.
