Tender-hearted father of all people

As the time passes, the world progressive people are saying highly of and longing for the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, the distinguished statesman of the 20th century.

The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il said as following.

"There is no great man in history who can be his equal in virtue."

("Kim Jong Il selected works" vol. 13, p 30)

President Kim Il Sung was a great man before a leader of a country. He never forgot comrades who once shared the same idea and feeling and took warm care of them even during the last years of his life.

In May 1994, he met Hu Zhen Yi, Cai Shi Rong's wife and his family. Cai was a Chinese anti-Japanese fighter, who fought with him several decades ago.

The president never forgot Cai for such a long time and even postponed his field guidance to meet his family.

Hu Zhen Yi and her son expressed their heartfelt thanks to him, who welcomed them with sunny smile.

He recognized Mrs. Hu at the first sight and said that he was very happy to meet her again after fifty years. In a luncheon for them he said that he was very happy as if he himself met Cai Shi Rong and added that Mrs. Hu still preserved the features of younger ages.

Being impelled by a strong sense of gratitude, Mrs. Hu wished President Kim Il Sung's health saying that President Kim Il Sung's health is the happiness for all Korean people as well as anti-Japanese veteran fighters and old brothers-in-arms.

He recommended staying in Pyongyang until he came back from the field guidance so that he could meet them again. And he continued that he welcomed her as an old brother-in-arms or a friend but not as a president. Furthermore, he said highly of Chinese fighters who fought with him and their sacrificing spirit.

Every word of his sayings was precious one, full of revolutionary comradeship and noble internationalist fidelity. Mrs. Hu and her family were really impressed by him, who called Chinese revolutionaries' names one by one and appreciated their exploits despite they had died long ago.

After 20 days, the President met Hu Zhen Yi again and had a long talk. He suggested that she should visit his country more often, saying that he could not meet her many times then due to tight schedule but he was willing to have more talks at her next visit. He added that the most pleasant thing for him was to meet related people of anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. Besides, he continued that train was safer than airplane considering her health and suggested bringing son and grandson with her to have a good rest.

There is also a story about a Cuban female lawyer which still touches our heartstrings. When President Kim Il Sung met Kandelyaria Rodrigues for the first time on June, 3rd, 1994, she expressed her thanks for his hospitality several times. But the President said that it was natural between friends. In addition, he highly appreciated her article published after her last year's visit, saying that it was realistic and written expertly.

Saying that she visited his country last winter so she couldn't have many opportunities to visit local areas, he stressed she'd better have enough rest and see everything she wanted. When she said that she was planning to climb up Mt. Paektu during her visit, the President refused to agree with her in consideration of her health, because it was still snowy and cold there. Then he said that it would be good to have a rest in Korea in summer and in Cuba in winter.

His care was really warm and considerable that she had never experienced.

That day, he gave a luncheon for her. He said that he was really happy to meet his brother-in-arm and helped her to more. He even put dishes she likes before her and offered wine.

It was the day that she could never forget.

As we see here, President Kim Il Sung, even during last days of his life, did everything for his brothers-in-arms, comrades as well as giving all his love to them.

He was the supreme incarnation of love and fidelity and the tender-hearted father of all people.
