Rodong Sinmun of Jan. 31, Juche 112 (2023) carried the news about nearly a hundred thousand young people who volunteered to work in the major fronts of socialist construction since the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
A hundred thousand young people. Only a month has passed since the Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the WPK, and a surprising atmosphere of volunteering by the young people of Korea is sweeping all across the country.
So spirited and gallant are the young people of Korea, who are called by the proud name of "Youth Volunteers" and are bravely volunteering to work in the major fronts amidst the high expectation of all the people. In their strides one can feel the ardour of youth, and their eyes are glittering with firm determination to glorify their young days as the youth vanguard of the WPK.
They are aware that they will not be going to a flourishing city nor will they be walking along a brightly-lit pavement. Where they're headed for are the farm fields on which they will have to sweat away, the mines which are thousands of feet under the ground completely blocked from sunshine, and the sleepless construction sites of new streets.
They are also well aware that they will have to redouble their efforts probably much more than the others and under more difficult situation than others.
However, they never regret, nor are they pessimistic.
Such are the young people of Korea, the youth vanguard of the WPK.
It is under the care of the WPK that they took the first step of their life, and they grew up singing the Party's care as that of a mother. As they've grown up with the love and under the care of the Party, they've learnt to feel deeply in their hearts what their youth should be devoted to and what kind of career to pursue.
The respected Comrade
"The more vigorously young people advance in response to the call of the Workers' Part of Korea, demonstrating the might of the youth construction units, the more vibrantly the entire country will be seething and the greater progress will be made in implementing the cause of building a powerful socialist country."
Even at this very moment, numerous young people are fully demonstrating the revolutionary spirit and mettle of Korean youth at the grand socialist construction sites the Party has called them onto, and are enjoying the honour and pride of youth on the path devoted to the WPK and the revolution.
They've never forgotten the pledge they made before the country and the revolution, and they're accelerating the advance of Korean revolution and the speed of country's development by displaying the wisdom and courage of youth. How could they ever hesitate even a single moment or flinch from the call of the Party and the country!
This is the spirit of the young people of Korea, which enables them to brave all sorts of difficulties and trials with all their heart and ardent fervor, and which propels them forward without any fear of self-sacrifice.
Miracles have been created and remarkable changes made wherever the spirit of youth is displayed. Thanks to the wisdom of Korean youth, a new street springs up and their fervour ripens all kinds of crops promising a bumper harvest.
The future of socialist Korea, where the spirit of the Korean youth is fully displayed will be more beautiful and there will be more creations of prosperity.
Only victory and glory will prevail in the path of the Korean youth, who will only be advancing along the path of loyalty, the path of reward forever sailing with the wind of Paektu and following the invariable course of Juche revolution indicated by the respected General Secretary. And the DPR Korea, a youth power, will be vibrant and active with youthfulness and will reach an ever-higher level of a powerful socialist country.
