A Study On Pathology Reporting And Specimen Preparation Time Estimation Using SNOMED CT

 2026.9.2.

The Electronic Health Registry (EHR) system has been applied as the basic system of the Health Information System (HIS), while the study on clinical data loss shows that EHR is insufficiently recording various treatment data such as diagnosis, outpatient services, specialist treatment, hospitalization, and medication. The standardization of pathological test reporting is partly done in EHRs in the sense that itself has an unstructured feature, but it offers the possibility of interchange between not only EHRs but also all systems used in HIS.

Therefore, we proposed a method to standardize pathology reports using SNOMED CT, and then based on that, we evaluated the specimen preparation time to improve the quality of pathology and thus to ensure appropriate specimen management. The study results show that comparing machine learning procedures with standardized and non-standardized test pathology reports, standardized pathology test reports significantly improve accuracy and reliability.

The result analysis show that standardized pathology reports can improve the quality of pathological test by reducing the loss of data for the patient and ensuring the quality of the specimen preparation.

The results were published in the ‘Information Technology' under the title of "A Study On Pathology Reporting And Sampling Time Estimation Using Snomed CT"(https://elibrary.ru/title_asp?id=61250).
