Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) who is on a state visit to the DPRK, laid a floral basket at the Friendship Tower on Friday.
Present at the floral basket-laying ceremony were Ding Xuexiang, Yang Jiechi, Wang Yi, He Lifeng, Song Tao and other entourages of the Chinese side.
Also attending it were Choe Ryong Hae, Pak Pong Ju and other senior officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs and officials concerned.
The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army (KPA) lined up at the Friendship Tower.
The national anthems of the two countries were played.
A floral basket was placed at the tower in the name of Xi Jinping.
Written on the ribbon were letters saying "The Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers Will Be Immortal".
Then there was a march-past of the guard of honor of the KPA.
Being told about the Friendship Tower, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan looked round the tower symbolic of the DPRK-China friendship sealed in blood.
Xi Jinping wrote in the visitor's book:
"Friendship will be handed down through generations with longing for the martyrs.
