Kim Jin Myong

Kim Jin Myong was born in Sambong-dong, Wonsan City, Kangwon Province on February 11th, 1967. After finishing a secondary school, he enrolled in the then Faculty of Mathematics and Dynamics, Kim Il Sung University in 1982. From 1990, he worked as a lecturer of the university, and afterwards as the head of Department of Analytics, Faculty of Mathematics and Dynamics, Kim Il Sung University. He has been the dean of Faculty of Mathematics since 2020.

In 2006, he got a doctor's degree for his dissertation "The theorem of operator value Fourier factors in vector value function space and its application".

He gives lectures on Modern maths, Analytic Maths and Analytics of Function for the students of maths.

He has authored six textbooks and four reference books including Analytic Maths. Over 20 of his papers were published in foreign journals, one of which is "Estimates for a class of oscillatory integrals and decay rates for wave-type equations" in SCI Journal, Journal of Math, Analysis and its Application(394, 2012). Over 40 of his papers were published in national journals including "Point-wise regular time-space estimates of fundamental solutions of dispersive equations". His research areas are Fractals and the study of dispersive equations by harmonic analysis method.

In February, 2015, he was awarded "February 16th Science and Technology Prize", the highest prize for achievement in science and technology in the DPRK.

He supervised one doctoral and ten MSc dissertations.

His research results were highly appreciated by President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
